With deep appreciation for its long-standing commitment to serve those in need and its support of the Heartbeat International (HBI) mission, it is a pleasure to congratulate the Association of Pakistani-descent Cardiologists of North America on its 10th anniversary.
Under the leadership of fine physicians and true friends, the APCNA has set and consistently achieved the highest of professional and humanitArain objectives. While its successes range over many areas, we at Heartbeat International are most appreciative of the APCNA’s stated goal of “promoting philanthropic work to improve the cardiovascular health of communities across the globe.”
Heartbeat International Foundation, Inc. (www.heartbeatsaveslives.org) is a U.S.-based non-profit organization that provides cardiovascular pacing devices and associated medical care to underserved populations around the world. Given the nature of our work, it is no exaggeration to say we simply could not achieve our objectives without the support of like-minded organizations and individuals. Our work in Pakistan is possible because of the APCNA’s generous support and the work of our friends and colleagues at Karachi’s Tabba Heart Institute and the Rotary Club of Karachi Karsaz.
Over the last 10 years, about 160 deserving Pakistani patients have been given a new lease on life thanks to the cooperation and shared passion to serve others demonstrated by the APCNA and its members.
On behalf of Zakaria Karim, Bashir Ahmed, Naziran Begum, Muhammad Yamin, and the many other patients in Pakistan that have benefitted from the APCNA’s commitment to philanthropy, I offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to the APCNA. We look forward to many additional years of successful partnership!
With sincere appreciation,
Dr. Benedict S. Maniscalco,
Chairman, Heartbeat International Foundation, Inc.
